Welcome to Sighthovnd Studio

My name is Imogen, and I work in a cozy private studio on Ballard Ave NW in Seattle, WA.

I will be in Portland from Oct 23-25, 2026, if you would like to work together during that time, please use this submission form.

My interests are in whimsical surrealism, illustrative stylized figures, pet portraits, vintage illustration and other found images. I love working in both color and black and white, and welcome all bodies and skin tones.

I offer flash tattoos & custom work. I'm happy to discuss cover-up projects, custom fill pieces, and am comfortable working with fully healed scar tissue.

As my buddy @dirtchurchtattoo said when I showed her my in-progress flash yesterday, “you do….too much.” Look, I KNOW. I have somewhere between 7 to 10 working files every time I do a flash drop and if I get half of those out, I am happy.

I love spooky little friends, I love ignoring anatomy and making little freaks! And the big reason for so many different kinds of prices is that there are so many tattoo techniques that I love working on & want to keep getting better at!

Thank you so much for your patience, an extra few days really helped me bring these pieces to the level of finish that I was happy with. For my botanical only friends, enjoy some hydrangeas, blackberries, fern, and mushrooms. For people who like illustrated work but preferred to keep it in black-and-white only, every single drawing (but one) I’ve done for this drop is available in both black-and-white and color! From spooky little candle friends to a wee coven of witches to your very own herb bundle-bunny, this drop is for the woo-woo, the whimsical, and the lovers of autumn.

[I’m realizing the irony that I asked for suggestions and I’m not sure I managed to finish any of the flash pieces featuring those suggestions. So hopefully, they will be polished up for next time!]

Every greyhound is a gift 💚 thank you, Lauren, for letting me memorialize Georgia.

There’s something very wonderful about completing a pet portrait and having my client see their friend again. I lost my heart dog back in 2024, and I feel like a little piece of love for her goes into every pet portrait that I do.

There’s nothing we can do to ease the loss of our best friends, but I know that being able to look down and see my dog face on my arm helps keep her memory alive in a special way, and I’m honored that my clients trust me to do the same.

Have you been personally victimized by your tattoo artist not posting your tattoo? Well, if you have been tattooed by me in the last 10 months, you may be eligible for compensation.( just kidding, but seriously I’m very sorry.)

I’m not sure what the correct term for it is, but I have a really hard time with the idea of posting tattoos out of order. I uploaded a bunch of photos to storage in order to clear up space on my phone last spring ,and as a result, I ended up removing photos from my phone that had not yet posted.

Ever since I’ve been in a horrible stalemate with my executive function, trying to work up the spoons to play catch-up.

I still plan on posting the tattoos that I’ve done in the last 10 months, but ultimately I need to accept that sometimes things are not gonna happen the way I plan. We are saying sorry not today to the crazy part of my brain that insists that there’s only one correct way to do things with the result that nothing happens at all.

So this one is jumping the line to help me get over that. I had the absolute privilege of tattooing one of the most handsome cats I have ever seen. And the absolute honor to tattoo him real real big. Thank you so much, Isabelle, for trusting me too memorialize Cheeky in such an epic way, both in scale and in visibility. Every day I get to do a pet memorial or tribute is a good day, I’m blown away by how lucky I am to be trusted with these pieces.

This is my very first flash and moving into my new studio space!

Some of these pieces started out as drawings in a sketchbook, others started out at my new drafting table with a giant A1 size light drawing board (a dream finally realized), many of them were inspired by custom projects that I started or finished in my new space, and I am thrilled with all of them!

As usual, thank you to my neighbors for growing beautiful gardens (talking about you @nickelsmith ) so I can photograph them. I had so much fun this around with feathers, putting eyeballs places that they don’t belong, and really tried to hone in on some interesting negative space and contrast situations. Thank you as always to my wonderful clients for embracing the weird and wacky guys that I draw. I really loved putting together this last drop and hope that it resonates with you!

Featuring, a secretary, bird harpy ( I have been trying to make work for ever!) lil foal, yet another rabbit, alstroemeria, which is one of my favorite flowers, a giant peony from my neighbors garden, some dog wood, a cat-maid with some jellyfish friends, a weird little cone flower with a bird, and his buddy, a bird with flowers with eyeballs coming out of his tail?

I don’t ask questions. I just draw.

I never thought I would love botanical tattooing so much. It reaches way back to my undergrad days of spending hours drawing from observation, and it has helped me be so much more in tune to the world around me as I look at different plants and flowers on my commute and dog walks.

Thank you to every client who has offered up their skin and made it possible for me to add this to my repertoire. I still get self-conscious at the difference between my illustrative work and the botanical realism, but I will just calm down and let it happen! thank you specifically to Kayla, Ruby, and Molly for letting me do these pieces. Especially now, where sweet peas and assertions have really been having their moment in the sun!
